Jason Pierre-Paul offered the perfect explanation Sunday for what the New York Giants did Sunday during a 33-14 loss to the Baltimore Ravens, and for what the now 8-7 Giants have done to their once-promising season after starting 6-2.
"We pissed on our legs," said Pierre-Paul after the game.
Head coach Tom Coughlin was baffled:
"I take full responsibility for this team. I am the head coach. What's happened over the past few weeks is hard to explain," Coughlin said.
Frank Schwab of Yahoo! Sports appropriately called the Giants' loss to Baltimore "an absolute stink-bomb." He added that "If the Giants are pulling their annual act of convincing everyone they are totally out of it only to reemerge and win the Super Bowl, they're really, really pushing the envelope this season."
Ohm Youngmisuk of ESPN New York wrote that the Giants "look like they are just going through the motions of playing the season out as they continue to fade down the stretch. There’s plenty of blame to go around."
