Andre Brown suffered a broken fibula in Sunday's 38-10 victory by the New York Giants over the Green Bay Packers. Head coach Tom Coughlin confirmed the injury after the game.

Brown suffered the injury on a 16-yard run in the fourth quarter. Before going down, Brown had 13 carries for 64 yards and one score. His 2-yard touchdown run opened the scoring for New York. Prior to Sunday's game, Brown had 60 carries for 321 yards and seven touchdowns on the season.

Brown had become the Giants' goal line back, and his role in the offense was increasing in recent weeks.

Without Brown, whose season is likely over, the Giants will turn to rookie first-round pick David Wilson as the primary backup for the starter Ahmad Bradshaw. Wilson has been used sparingly as a running back this season. He carried six times for 13 yards late in Sunday's game and now has 24 carries for 102 yards (4.25 yards per carry) on the season.
