Marshall Newhouse injures leg during Giants' practice

Did the Giants just take another hit on the offensive line?

Well, New York Giants fans, many of you have been apoplectic about the possibility of Marshall Newhouse being the team's starting right tackle. Newhouse went down in a heap at Wednesday's practice, then limped off the field with his left foot/ankle heavily bandaged. The Giants are officially saying that a teammate stepped on the back of Newhouse's left ankle.

With Newhouse out, veteran Geoff Schwartz and rookie Bobby Hart both reportedly took first-team reps at right tackle. No word, of course, on the extent of Newhouse's injury. If the Giants release anything, good news or bad, we will let you know.

One day after returning to practice for the first time in several weeks, safety Nat Berhe was missing from Wednesday's workout at Quest Diagnostics Training Center. Berhe has been dealing with a calf injury since OTAs, and the Giants announced that Berhe re-aggravated that injury.

More from practice

Here is a nice deep ball from Eli Manning to Odell Beckham:

Wide receiver Rueben Randle practiced for the second straight day.

Cornerback Jayron Hosley reportedly returned to practice.

Brett Jones apparently took some reps at guard. He also played a handful of snaps at guard Saturday vs. the Jacksonville jaguars.

Corey Washington came up limping after a dropped pass on Tuesday. Apparently, Washington is still gimpy today.

NOTE: Show some class in your comments about Newhouse's injury. Any "good, I'm glad he's hurt" comments are not going to be tolerated.
