EAST RUTHERFORD, N.J. -- The New York Giants return to practice Tuesday at the Quest Diagnostics Training Center. Practice begins at 2:30 p.m. ET, and is the final one of training camp that will be open to the public.

Head coach Tom Coughlin said Sunday that practices this week will be closer to the style of regular-season practice sessions. The Giants, of course, are preparing for their third preseason game, the "dress rehearsal" game against the New York Jets during which starters should play for an extended time.

"There has to be a little bit of a sense of urgency right now. You're a couple weeks away from lining up. So, I mean, I'd like to see things done well, done right. Obviously, whoever it is, doesn't matter, Odell — it doesn't make any difference," Coughlin said. "When it doesn't go the way it's supposed to go, and we've been at this for a couple of weeks, why doesn't it go that way? So you have to look hard at that."

Here are three things to watch today.

  • The safeties: Landon Collins (knee), Nat Berhe (calf) and Cooper Taylor are all expected to practice, bolstering a position devastated by injury.
  • The offensive line: The Giants rotated Geoff Schwartz, John Jerry and Marshall Newhouse Saturday against the Jacksonville Jaguars. It will be interesting to see if Jerry (right guard) and Newhouse (right tackle) is still the starting combo, or if the Giants slide Schwartz in at one of those spots.
  • The defensive tackles: Mark Kuhn has not been impressive, at least Pro Football Focus says he hasn't, during the first two preseason games. Yet, Coughlin offered a defense of Kuhn on Sunday. Will Jay Bromley or Kenrick Ellis replace Kuhn with the first team?
