Safety Darian Thompson was a surprise addition to the New York Giants’ injury report on Wednesday as preparation for Sunday’s game against the Washington Redskins swung into high gear.
Thompson, the rookie safety who missed time in the preseason with a shoulder injury, apparently has a foot injury. He was listed as limited in practice.
The rest of the injury report was as expected.
Rashad Jennings (hand) was limited. The running back is dealing with a thumb injury.
Right tackle Marshall Newhouse (calf) did not practice. Reports indicated, though, that Newhouse is no longer wearing a walking boot. If Newhouse can’t play Sunday against the Washington Redskins, either Bobby Hart or Will Beatty will be at right tackle.
Defensive tackle Robert Thomas (illness) continued to be out of practice.
