Giants’ injury report, 12/16: G Justin Pugh expected to play vs. Detroit Lions

Pugh hasn’t played since suffering knee injury Week 9

Guard Justin Pugh, out of the New York Giants’ lineup since injuring a knee early in Week 9 against the Philadelphia Eagles, is not on the team’s Friday injury report. That would indicate the Giants expect Pugh to return to his spot at left guard Sunday against the Detroit Lions.

Earlier in the week, Pugh had told reporters that “I think this is the week” he wold return to action.

“It (not playing) was killing me,” Pugh said. “Obviously, I hear it from all the o-line. We’re like brothers. All five of us are in there. We’re the closest group on the team, in my opinion. I was hearing it from Weston and J.J. (John Jerry). We want you back out there and blah blah blah. It’s nice not to hear that from them anymore and to be back out there and playing.”

The only Giant listed as out is, of course, defensive end Jason Pierre-Paul.
