Bowman spent last season with the Giants after spending the first six seasons of his career with the Chicago Bears. We was considered a depth signing who would mostly help on special teams, but ended up starting five games at corner due to a rash of injuries.
The Palm Beach Post speculates that Bowman could be a starter for Miami unless the Dolphins get a top cornerback in the draft. That is an opportunity that was not going to come Bowman's way in New York. Even with Walter Thurmond signing with the Philadelphia Eagles, Bowman would have been behind Prince Amukamara, Dominique Rodgers-Cromartie, Trumaine McBride and possibly others on the Giants' depth chart.
The Giants still have Chykie Brown, Mike Harris, Jayron Hosley and Bennett Jackson as reserve corners.
