The New York Giants get the national spotlight when they open their 2015 NFL season on Sunday Night Football (8:30 p.m. ET/NBC) on the road in a key NFC East game against the defending division champion Dallas Cowboys. Are they ready for the challenge?
"I'm excited, I'm looking forward to it. Hey, it is what it is. The season begins whether you're ready or not, that's what I always say," Giants head coach Tom Coughlin told Giants.com. "I told the players that. ‘Fellas, buckle your seat belts. Because whether you're ready or whether you're not ready, it's starting Sunday night. You better be ready.' "
The Giants are entering 2015 trying to reverse a trend that has seen them go three straight seasons without making the playoffs, and suffering losing seasons (7-9 and 6-10) the past two years. They will open the season without defensive end Jason Pierre-Paul (unsigned/hand), wide receiver Victor Cruz (calf) and middle linebacker Jon Beason (knee). The complete injury report is below.
