Thursday offered another clear indication that wide receiver Victor Cruz will not play Sunday night when the New York Giants face the Dallas Cowboys in their season-opening game. Cruz (calf) once again did not practice, something he has not done in roughly three weeks. Head coach Tom Coughlin, though, continues to refuse to rule him out of Sunday's game.
"I'm not ruling anything out," Coughlin said Thursday morning.

Jon Beason says he plans to play Sunday night despite not practicing today. Went very hard yesterday. Knee sore today. #NYG #Giants

Will LB John Beason play Sunday? "That's the plan," he said. "Trust me, I don't want to miss Dallas. It means everything to me."

Odell Beckham also appeared to be doing limited work during the portion of practice witnessed by reporters, but does not appear on the injury report. It sounds as though the light workload for Beckham was a simple precaution.
Beckham: just getting ready for the game. Not trying to use it all before Dallas #Giants
