Adam Gettis will make his first NFL start today, playing left guard for the New York Giants as they face the Cleveland Browns. Gettis will start because Justin Pugh (knee), Brett Jones (calf) and Marshall Newhouse (knee) are all inactive.
Gettis was a 2012 fifth-round pick by the Washington Redskins. He played in one game for the Giants last season, and has appeared in two this season.
Giants’ defensive end Jason Pierre-Paul, who missed practice time this week due to a knee injury, is active.
Jay Bromley, a 2014 third-round pick is inactive while Robert Thomas, acquired via waivers at the beginning of this season, will be the third defensive tackle. Veteran cornerback Leon Hall is a healthy scratch for the fourth consecutive week.
