Will the New York Giants emerge from Sunday’s game against the Cleveland Browns with six-game winning streak and in good shape for a season-ending playoff run? Or, will they fall victim to the 0-11 Browns and make their playoff path more difficult?
We find out this afternoon as the Giants play their first road game in a month ( 1 p.m. ET/FOX).
“You want to go in there and put your best foot forward and treat this game as if it is as important as any other game on your schedule. You don’t want to buy into the fact that they are 0-11 or whatever the case may be. You want to go in there and prepare yourself as if they have the same record that you do,” said Giants’ wide receiver Victor Cruz. “So it could be a little bit of a mental thing, mental hurdle for us, but I think this team understands that and will be ready.”
The Giants will enter the game thin on the offensive line. Justin Pugh (knee), Brett Jones (calf) and Marshall Newhouse (knee) have all been declared out vs. the Browns. That means the Giants will be down to Adam Gettis, their fourth choice at left guard. A 2012 fifth-round pick by the Washington Redskins, Gettis has played in 16 NFL games with no starts.
