The next big step in the road to the 2020 NFL Draft is almost upon us. The best prospects from around the country will be gathering in Lucas Oil Stadium to interview, test, and work out for the New York Giants and the 31 other teams.

While many mock drafts have the Giants selecting an offensive tackle with the fourth overall pick, it would not be surprising to see them invest heavily in the defensive side of the ball. After all, their defense has been a disappointment and a liability for three years running. So with that in mind, the Chris and Joe Show decided to name some defenders who will be worth watching.

In This Podcast

Chase Young (EDGE, Ohio State)

  • Will he live up to the hype?
  • What kind of athlete is he? How will he compare to the Bosa brothers?

Isaiah Simmons (LB, Clemson)

  • Can he do enough to entice the Giants?
  • Will we see him do defensive back drills?

Grant Delpit (S, LSU)

  • Can he do enough to rehabilitate his draft stock?
  • Will he show enough to be a true free safety?

Julian Okwara (EDGE, Notre Dame)

  • How will Okwara weigh in?
  • Does he have the mobility to play in space?
  • How will his medicals check out?

K’Lavon Chaisson (EDGE, LSU)

  • How good are his hands?
  • Can he be consistent?
  • How will his medicals check out?

Derrick Brown (DT, Auburn)

  • What kind of a show will the big guy put on?
  • Is Brown a legitimate Top 5 prospect?

Patrick Queen (LB, LSU), Kenneth Murray (LB, Oklahoma), Troy Dye (LB, Oregon)

  • Which of the “other” linebackers will separate from the pack?
  • Will any of them convince the Giants to take them if they don’t draft Isaiah Simmons in the first round?
