The New York Giants return to training camp on Thursday, holding their final practice at Quest Diagnostics Training Center before traveling to face the Houston Texans on Saturday in their second preseason game.
Thursday’s practice features a schedule change. It will be held at 11:45 a.m. ET. Previous practices have been held at 10 a.m. Coordinators Mike Kafka (offense), Shane Bowen (defense), and Michael Ghobrial (special teams) will speak to media before practice.
The Giants have a long injury list. Perhaps we will find out more about the statuses of wide receiver Malik Nabers, cornerback Dru Phillips, running back Tyrone Tracy, guard Jon Runyan, quarterback Drew Lock, cornerback Cor’Dale Flott, and other injured players.
With starters expected to play on Saturday, perhaps coach Brian Daboll will offer a hint regarding what we might see regarding playing time for Daniel Jones and others.

Malik Nabers grabbed at the back of his right leg after taking a jet sweep and opening up #Giants. He is continuing to practice, though, and just ran a couple routes without a target. Something to just watch

Nabers just made a catch on a stop route as the #Giants’ game preparation continues. He remains a full participant
— Pat Leonard (@PLeonardNYDN) August 15, 2024
Giants TE Tyree Jackson just dove and caught a low pass from Tommy DeVito and walked over hurt, throwing his helmet to the ground. His back was hurting the other day
— Pat Leonard (@PLeonardNYDN) August 15, 2024
Jackson is supposed to be the #Giants emergency QB for Saturday. He just left practice in obviously pain grabbing the back of his leg and lower back seemingly. Drew Lock status uncertain. Obviously is injured and not practicing
— Pat Leonard (@PLeonardNYDN) August 15, 2024
From what we are seeing right now at this #Giants practice, looks very much like Malik Nabers can and even likely will play Saturday in Houston, while Runyan and Tracy would not.

This jog-thru looks like regular season type preparation with the starters
Giants clearly treating Saturday like a dress rehearsal for the season. Today is a “cards” practice with the offense and defense alternating serving as the scout team for the other side.

Tracy is participating in individual drills. Looks fine. Wild based on the way he left the field on Tuesday https://t.co/y89WIjExVA

— GiantsWFAN (@giantswfan) August 15, 2024
Giants DC Shane Bowen mentioned Azeez Ojulari as a possible fourth option up front with Dexter Lawrence, Brian Burns and Kayvon Thibodeaux.
— Art Stapleton (@art_stapleton) August 15, 2024
So I asked him what he has seen from Ojulari: pic.twitter.com/XSn6ZFF24n
An interesting nugget: DC Shane Bowen mentioned Azeez Ojulari as an option on the interior of the defensive line.
— Jordan Raanan (@JordanRaanan) August 15, 2024
This would possibly be in pass-rush situations. Giants have had success in the past using young edge guys on the interior as well. pic.twitter.com/q9RILN9lyz
