Giants implementing more pre-snap motion with Brian Daboll calling plays | New York Post
“The first play [Wednesday], they had like a fly motion, back to an orbit and back out the back door, which is a lot in one play,’’ linebacker Micah McFadden told The Post after Thursday’s practice. “As a safety, you’re kind of looking at it like, ‘Where am I going here, and what’s the call I got to make?’ You kind of get caught in that gray area, which is difficult for a defense. As an offense, it’s gonna create problems for a defense.’’

Malik Nabers: How NY Giants rookie has won over the team with his work | The Record
"Everything you want in a receiver, he's got, and I appreciate the dawg he brings to practice," veteran defensive back Nick McCloud said of Nabers. "He just comes to work every day with that mindset of, 'I'm going to win,' and you've got to respect. Some guys, they boast about it and brag about it, but they don't really come every day trying to win, and I appreciate that about Malik - he wants to win at everything he does."

Not all the time, of course. But during the Giants' training camp practice today, Daboll solicited Nabers' input on one particular call. Nabers was thrilled to comply. And given that he's an ultra-talented wideout who caught 21 touchdown passes at LSU, Nabers didn't exactly surprise anyone with his decision.
"It's a great feeling," Nabers said. "Dabs asked me what play I wanted to call, and I said, 'Well, let's throw a go ball. And (quarterback) Daniel (Jones) came up to me, like, 'What do you want, you want to check out of the press (coverage)?' I said, 'Nah, off, press, just throw it up.' He was like, 'I got you.' The chemistry showed."

Rookie Dru Phillips eager to earn his Giants secondary spot | New York Post
Whether at the nickel or as a boundary corner, Phillips — the 70th-overall pick this April — is putting the Giants’ larger success over his individual desires.
“It’s just help this team any way possible,” Phillips said. “I’m fighting my butt off in every last thing I can. But no matter what, at the end of the day, the goal is to win games. If that means special teams or go in there at nickel, anything, I’ll do it.”
If his Giants’ rebuild is going to work, GM Joe Schoen needs draft picks to thrive in 2024 | The Athletic
The key is replenishing and adding to the talent pipeline. This is undeniably Schoen’s roster now, as 2021 draft picks Azeez Ojulari and Aaron Robinson are the only players on the 90-man roster who weren’t drafted, signed or re-signed by Schoen.
The most important part of the building process is having Schoen’s draft picks thrive. If that happens, the Giants will be on the right track. But if the draft picks don’t develop, the three-year review won’t be pretty.

30) New York Giants. The Giants’ brain trust hasn’t come off all that well in HBO’s offseason “Hard Knocks” docuseries, and GM Joe Schoen and HC Brian Daboll are in precarious positions heading into next season. Daniel Jones’ extension already looks like an obvious misfire, while New York failed to acquire a quarterback solution in April’s draft. The Giants have room for defensive improvement, but there’s not much to like here.
