The New York Giants are reportedly interested in interviewing a second assistant from former head coach Mike Vrabel’s staff with the Tennessee Titans.

The Giants have been granted permission to speak with Tennessee assistant coach Tony Dews about their vacant running backs coach position. The Giants interviewed Tennessee defensive coordinator Shane Bowen last week as a potential replacement for Wink Martindale.

Dews, 50, has an interesting resume. He has been with the Titans since 2018, coaching running backs through the 2022 season. Last season, Dews coached tight ends.

Dews began his coaching career in college in 1998. At various times he has coached on offense, defense and special teams. The only position he has not coached is quarterback.

The Giants also interviewed New Orleans Saints’ running backs coach Joel Thomas for their vacancy, which was created when Jeff Nixon accepted a job as offensive coordinator at Syracuse University.
