The Tennessee Titans have requested an interview with New York Giants offensive coordinator, per a report from Tom Pelissero of the NFL Network.

Kafka was widely considered a rising star in the coaching ranks after the Giants’ surprising playoff appearance a year ago, having gotten head coaching interviews with four different franchises in the last hiring cycle.

The Giants fielded one of the worst offenses in the NFL in 2023, finishing 30th in points scored and 29th in yards gained. It was pretty widely accepted among fans that Kafka wouldn’t be receiving any interview requests after such a performance.

However, it would seem that the Giants’ OC is still a respected offensive mind around the NFL for what he was able to accomplish with a flawed and injury-plagued unit. The Giants did manage to win three games with UDFA Tommy DeVito, nearly upset the Los Angeles Rams and beat the Philadelphia Eagles with Tyrod Taylor.

The Titans will be going in a new direction with the departure of Mike Vrabel, and potentially Derrick Henry as well. The Titans are seemingly casting a wide net and have also requested an interview with interim Raiders head coach Antonio Pierce as well.

Kafka was a finalist for the Arizona Cardinals opening a year ago, and we could see Brian Daboll forced to completely rebuild his coaching staff in 2024 after parting ways with Wink Martindale and firing Thomas McGaughey.
