Madden NFL 24: Are The Ratings Right For Giants?
Madden NFL 24: Are The Ratings Right For Giants?
According to Madden itself, the player ratings of each annual game are formulated in a "sophisticated and dynamic" process that accurately translates the real-life ability and performance of each NFL player. This all sounds very good and well, but you’ll excuse us if we ask: what process is that, a lucky dip?!
Ahem, we don’t want to seem bitter. But it can be easy to understand why a number of fans plough their way online every year to explain just how very bad the player ratings are. One of the most controversial this year is the Buffalo Bills backliner, Von Miller. He is a fine player, by all accounts, but a rating of 94? Is he seriously ranked 15 more points ahead of a player like Devin White, who lit up the Buccaneers backline last season – and was named Player of the Month in September 2022?
And what about Aaron Donald for the Los Angeles Rams? He has the superstar rating of 99, and while he is certainly a marvel in Los Angeles, there are arguably so many other players who deserve that spot just as much as him.
For some fans, it feels like Madden simply do not update their ratings enough, giving players performance skills that date back a whole year. This is part of the reason why many have suggested they team up with developers of other sports themed games, including NBA 2K, which is one of the best for updated, accurate ratings.
But before we jump onto that train – though let’s be honest, we have a ticket, and we’re waiting at the station – we’re going to look at the team that we care about and see what the situation is. That’s only fair, right? So here we go:

Have Madden NFL 24 Got It Right?
So those are the ratings in full. We have to say, we weren’t as badly represented as some other teams – Houston Texans and Arizona Cardinals take the pick for the worst in NFL 24 – but there’s still a number of oversights made.
The quarterbacks for every team are questionable, but Daniel Jones has the right to feel particularly disgruntled with an inaccurate Madden NFL 24 rating of just 75. Casey Kreiter, too, has a rating of just 30, and considering he has had the lowest ratings for the last few years, he can’t be feeling too happy about that. And it works the other way, as well. Darren Waller has been given a rating of 86, but compared to some other tight ends like Travis Kelce and Mark Andrews, we can’t say that he’s been in as good form. We’d even say that Luke Schoonmaker deserves to be around his level right now, if not higher, and considering the Giants vs Cowboys rivalry, that’s saying something!
It’s important, however, that we note just how much we love Madden NFL. Yes, everyone has their own ideas and preferences when it comes to ratings, but it’s more fun than anything to open up these conversations and really pinpoint where players are in their careers. As for the New York Giants, we think they are a bit better than this, but that’s just us. And hey, there’s always next year!
