Growing Up with Big Blue View

Disclaimer: This post is more a self reflection post, than it is a post about football.

I first joined this community in April of 2011. I was 20 years old at the time and had recently lost my father, whomI watched every single Giants game with going back as far as I can remember. A couple seasons passed and I still watched every game, but it didn’t feel the same without him. That’s when I found Big Blue View. It was a place where I could come and immerse myself with Giants news and be amongst people who cared just as much about the Giants as my father did. In a way I think coming here made me feel closer to him for a while. It’s been 12 years and I still come back. Man, that 2011 season was a blast around here and it’s so cool to see some the guys who were posting back then are still hanging around. I don’t post or comment much, but I still read every article. I moved away, began a career, settled down, but the one thing that never changed was having the BBV shortcut on the Home Screen of my iPhone. I’ll be 33 in 2 months, and I don’t have much in common with that 20 year old kid anymore, but BBV is that connection. It’s a very odd thing to say, but I grew up with a football blog. I grew up with Big Blue View.
