Preparations for the 2023 Reese’s Senior Bowl continued in Mobile, Ala. on Thursday for the third day of practices. After primarily scouting receivers on Wednesday, it appears that linebackers and safeties were the central area of focus today for Big Blue’s scouting department:

Linebackers
Out of Army, Andre Carter II came into Mobile as one of the Senior Bowl’s most intriguing prospects. Projected by some to be selected in the first round come draft day, Carter II has rebounded from a slow start to the week with plays like these that flash his tremendous potential and upside:
Army DE Andre Carter hasn’t had quite the week he probably wanted (needs to get a lot stronger), but his combination of quicks and length is very intriguing pic.twitter.com/49MeYfi9gK

Ivan Pace Jr. shined as well, with his pass-rushing ability being singled out in particular. A likely day 3 prospect, the former Cincinnati Bearcat could be on the Giants’ radar as a potential late=round selection:
Cincinnati LB Ivan Pace Jr. is looking really good in blitzing drills.

For a dude who’s not even 6’0”, he might be the most polished pass-rushing off-ball defender here. He’s beating guys with a variety of moves. #SeniorBowl
Safeties
In the secondary, former Illinois safety Sydney Brown was a standout. With polished coverage skills and speed, he will certainly be a prospect to keep an eye on:
Illinois Safety Sydney Brown is starting to dominate reps on #SeniorBowl Day 3 — he’s physical at the stem, has extraordinary balance, and shows great short-area quickness.

Two-time national champion and former Georgia Bulldog safety Christopher Smith put together a strong showing as well. Projected to go in either the first or second round, Smith will mark yet another high selection for Kirby Smart on the defensive side of the ball:

Pass catchers
On the offensive side of the ball, pass-catchers continued to make noise. Perhaps no one made a louder impact than Purdue tight end Payne Durham, who produced the day’s offensive highlight on this touchdown:

Michigan State’s Jayden Reed continues his rise up draft boards, showing off his speed on plays like this one:

Other standouts
Miami cornerback Tyrique Stevenson’s speed has made him a hot commodity in Mobile this week. With the Giants looking for secondary help, Stevenson could very well be a name to keep an eye on as the draft nears closer:
Miami’s Tyrique Stevenson is so comfortable in press-man. Easy mirroring off the line, stays on the hip vertically, and gets his head around to find the ball in phase. Best corner at the #SeniorBowl. pic.twitter.com/On1lhWyPye

On the offensive end, tackle Cody Mauch continues to raise his stock. The Giants themselves have taken notice, making Mauch a name to monitor very closely:

Cody Mauch has been outstanding on both days. Stud LG who’s got great hand placement and moves his feet very well for his size. #Giants, #Bengals, #Jets, #Cowboys and #Cardinals have been looking closely. #SeniorBowl
