Other Giant observations
Among his endeavors has been serving as a sounding board and supportive voice for Tommy DeVito, whom head coach Brian Daboll named the starting quarterback for the team's Monday night game against the Packers.
"I think he's played well," Jones said of DeVito. "He's made some big throws and helped the team win these last couple of games, which has been big. So it's been fun to watch him. He is a talented guy--he throws the ball well, has a strong arm, and he's been making a lot of plays."

It became very clear very early this season that Brian Daboll’s Giants aren’t yet ready to be a legit contender, even after winning a wild-card playoff game last season.
And everyone saw it, too, since the Giants played four of their first six games this season in primetime. They lost them all — 40-0 to Dallas in Week 1, 30-12 at San Francisco in Week 3, 24-3 to Seattle in Week 4, and 14-9 at Buffalo in Week 6.
What is going on with the Giants, Brian Daboll and Wink Martindale is not dysfunctional. You know that when you see it and this ain’t it. That does not mean it is all simpatico with the head coach and his defensive coordinator.
This isn’t a full list of everyone making positive contributions, but here are five Giants whose stock is up in Week 14.

Continuing the NFL's efforts to strengthen the pipeline of diverse candidates across all levels of the league, the NFL will host its Front Office & General Manager Accelerator Program from December 11-13 at the league meeting in Dallas, Texas.
The New York Giants are excited to announce that Assistant General Manager Brandon Brown is invited to participate in the Front Office & General Manager Accelerator.
Giants tight end Darren Waller has not played since late October due to a hamstring injury. But coming out of New York’s bye week, Waller is nearing a return.
Waller said on Wednesday that he’s been running routes and his hamstring is feeling good. He’s expecting to return to practice next week and hopes that he’ll be able to play against the Saints on Dec. 17 if all goes well.
In his first interview since undergoing knee surgery the day after Thanksgiving, the injured Giants quarterback said that his ACL repair went well and he already is attacking the rehab process.
“It’s definitely the goal to be back by training camp,” Jones said, who told reporters that only his ACL was injured. “I’m focused on what I’m doing right now and what’s directly in front of me, but long-term it’s definitely the goal to be back by training camp.”
LT still bitter about not going No. 1 in the draft

This week’s opponent
The Packers are riding a three-game winning streak into Week 14 and they could get running back Aaron Jones back to help their bid to make it four in a row.
Reporters at the open portion of Packers practice on Thursday shared photos and videos of Jones working in drills with the rest of the running backs. Jones has missed the team’s last two games with a knee injury and he’s missed five games overall this season.
The highest Packers player on this list was returner Keisean Nixon, who ranks second — behind only the New Orleans Saints’ Rashid Shaheed — as a designated returner. The other Green Bay player to make the cut was outside linebacker Rashan Gary, who ranked eighth among outside linebackers — a position that mostly broke in favor of pass-rushers.
Christian Watson caught two touchdown passes and recorded his second straight 70-plus-yard game. Six of his catches moved the chains, and he tallied three catches of 10-plus yards. The second-year wideout has three explosive gains and four touchdowns in his last three games.
