Giants-Rams inactives: CB Deonte Banks won’t play vs. Rams

Wan’Dale Robinson (quad) is active

Cornerback Deonte Banks, who had been listed as questionable with a shoulder injury, won’t play Sunday for the New York Giants against the Los Angeles Rams.

The 2023 first-round pick is a big loss for the Giants against a Rams team that that scored 30 or more points in four of their last five games.

The Giants made a draft day trade up to select Banks in the first round of the 2023 NFL Draft. He has started all 15 games this season, with two interceptions and 11 passes defensed. Banks has given up 53 completions in 96 targets (55.2%) and has a passer rating against of just 79.6.

The Rams have two star receivers in Puka Nacua, who has a team-leading 96 catches in his rookie season, and Cooper Kupp.

With Banks sidelined, Nick McCloud and rookie sixth-round pick Tre Hawkins could see increased playing time.

Wide receiver Wan’Dale Robinson, who had been questionable with a quad injury, is active. Wide receiver Dennis Houston, elevated from the practice squad on Saturday, is inactive.
