The New York Giants will wrap up the calendar year with a home game against the Los Angeles Rams on Sunday. Perhaps the Giants’ New Year’s resolution should be to stop being huge betting underdogs in nearly every game they play.

The Giants opened as 6.5-point underdogs at DraftKings Sportsbook, with +230 moneyline odds. The over/under is set at 42 points.

Sunday’s game means much more for the Rams than the Giants. Los Angeles has an 88% chance of making the playoffs with a win, but just a 16% chance if they lose, according to the New York Times.

The Giants were officially eliminated from the playoffs on Monday in a 33-25 loss to the Philadelphia Eagles.

The Rams have won four of their last five games, with the lone loss coming in overtime to the fearsome Baltimore Ravens.

They’ve covered the spread in each of those games, giving them a 9-5-1 record against the spread this year and 6-2 against the spread as favorites. Each of those five games has also gone over this week’s point total of 42.Los Angeles has been favored by 6.5 points or more twice and covered both times.

The Rams will be well-rested after cruising to a 30-22 win over the New Orleans Saints on Thursday in a game that was more lopsided than the final score suggests. The Saints beat the Giants 24-6 the previous week.

For their part, the Giants have won three of their last five games and covered the spread in four of them, all as underdogs.

A quarterback change could also be coming for New York, as Tommy Devito was benched for Tyrod Taylor in the second half on Monday. It’s unknown who will start against the Rams.

Giants-Rams begins at 1 p.m. on Sunday, Dec. 31.
