The Giants saw their three-game win streak evaporate last week as they lost in a 24-6 blowout to the New Orleans Saints. Each of their most recent three losses have been by 18 points or more.
The Philadelphia Eagles hurt their chances of earning the NFC’s No. 1 seed thanks to a 20-17 loss to the Seattle Seahawks last Monday, their third loss in a row. The Seahawks scored a game-winning touchdown with 28 seconds left following two fourth-quarter interceptions by Jalen Hurts.
Thanks to a Dallas loss in Week 15, the Eagles are still in control of the NFC East and would clinch the division title if they win out. That doesn’t appear to be too tall of a task; Philadelphia plays the Giants twice and the Arizona Cardinals once. However, their recent struggles create some room for doubt.
The Giants are still technically in the playoff hunt, though their chances are incredibly slim. Even if they won their remaining three games, they would not be guaranteed a Wild Card spot.
This is the first Giants-Eagles game of the 2023 season, though both teams have already completed the rest of their divisional schedule. The Eagles won all three of their games with the Giants last year, including a 38-7 victory in the Divisional Round of the playoffs.
