The New York Giants have begun shaping the 90-man roster they will bring into their 2023 offseason program. The team has announced the signings of 12 players to reserve/futures contracts. They are:

  • DT Vernon Butler
  • RB Jashaun Corbin
  • OT Korey Cunningham
  • DB Zyon Gilbert
  • OT Devery Hamilton
  • OL Solomon Kindley
  • WR Jaydon Mickens
  • WR Dre Miller
  • TE Chris Myarick
  • WR Kalil Pimpleton
  • WR Makai Polk
  • DB Trenton Thompson

All of those players were on the Giants’ practice squad this season, and many of them were elevated for games or spent time on the active roster.

Corbin, who last played collegiately at Florida State, signed with the Giants as an undrafted free agent and spent the 2022 season on the Giants’ practice squad. During the preseason, Corbin carried 21 times for 73 yards (3.5 yards per carry), caught 14 passes for 76 yards and returned four kickoffs for 94 yards (23.5 yards per return).

Gilbert played in three regular-season games. Myarick appeared in 16 games with seven receptions. Hamilton appeared in nine games. Cunningham appeared in one. Pimpleton spent the season on the practice squad. Mickens is a veteran who signed late in the season.

One player who won’t be signing is apparently Nigerian offensive lineman Roy Mbaeteka. After bouncing on and off the Giants’ practice squad all season, Dan Duggan of The Athletic is reporting that Mbaeteka will re-enter the International Pathway Program where he can land on a practice squad and be guaranteed three seasons to develop as an NFL player.
