The New York Giants are coming off arguably their most dominant victory in years, but oddsmakers are still expecting them to be blown out by the Philadelphia Eagles in the regular season finale.
The Eagles opened as -800 moneyline favorites with a 13.5-point spread at DraftKings Sportsbook. It’s the largest point spread in Week 18.
The over/under is set at 40.5 points, a total the Eagles topped by themselves in their 48-22 blowout of the Giants in Week 14. The Giants were 6.5-point underdogs in that game.
The Giants will have nothing to play for but pride after clinching the No. 6 seed in the NFC on Sunday. The line seems to reflect the possibility that they may rest their starters. Philadelphia needs to win the secure to No. 1 seed. If the Eagles lose and the Dallas Cowboys beat the Washington Commanders, Dallas would win the NFC East.
Unexpectedly, it’s the Giants that enter this game with momentum. The Eagles have lost two straight with Gardner Minshew starting in place of Jalen Hurts, who has a sprained right shoulder. In a 20-10 loss to the New Orleans Saints on Sunday, Philadelphia scored fewer than 20 points for just the second time this season.
Now the Eagles may have to rush Hurts back against the Giants. Head Coach Nick Sirianni said Sunday that Hurts was “close” to playing against the Saints. As for next week? “If he’s ready to go, he’ll play,” Sirianni said.
