This week’s matchup on Thursday Night Football will feature two teams heading in opposite directions on the year. The Tennessee Titans will look to keep their fleeting postseason hopes alive and try to build some momentum against the Dallas Cowboys.

The Cowboys have already locked up a playoff spot but still have a slim chance of winning the NFC East and the number one seed in the conference. Quarterback Dak Prescott is coming off a big game against a talented Philadelphia Eagles defense throwing for 347 yards and three touchdowns and now gets a matchup against a vulnerable Titans secondary. Things might be tougher for Tony Pollard and Ezekiel Elliot with the matchup against the Titan’s run defense. The Titans a currently the number two defense in rushing yards per game but there are many key pieces of the defense out this week.

The Titans have an extremely slim chance to make the playoffs if they win this game and lose against the Jacksonville Jaguars in Week 18. It looks like the Titans will mainly look to make sure they are healthier for the Week 18 divisional showdown with already listings numerous starters out for this game. This may have played a part in the Titans benching rookie quarterback Malik Willis in favor of Josh Dobbs for tonight’s contest. Willis has also struggled since he had to step in for Ryan Tannehill and has yet to throw a touchdown pass on the season compared to three interceptions. Overall it looks like the Titans will focus their attention on next week, which has played a role in the Cowboys being nearly two-touchdown favorites on the road.
