Good morning, New York Giants fans!

Jason Garrett will continue calling plays

If the Giants continue to stack losses, something has to change. The obvious move would seem to be replacing offensive coordinator Jason Garrett, or perhaps handing game day play-calling duties to senior offensive assistant Freddie Kitchens.

Head coach Joe Judge said on Monday that he is not yet inclined to make any changes of that sort.

“We’re going to stay consistent with what we’re doing and keep improving as a team,” Judge said. “There’s a lot of things we need to clean up coaching-wise, execution-wise, but we’re going to stay on the track with it and make sure we get those things right before making any radical changes.”

The New York Post, which also speculated on the possibility Kitchens could eventually take play-calling duties from Garrett, pointed out the major flaw in that plan. That, of course, is that with a game each week and limited practice time, a team cannot radically overhaul or install a new offense mid-stream. Essentially, the Giants would be asking Kitchens to run Garrett’s offense.
