The Bleeding Blue: Giants History Podcast Twitter feed has a link today to Ernie Accorsi's scouting report on Eli Manning in 2003 that led to the Giants going after him in the draft. It's an interesting and amusing read, and a pretty good description of who he turned out to be:
Ernie Accorsi’s scouting report on Eli Manning from 2003. Absolutely crazy and eerie how accurate this report was to who Eli was as a player. Let us know what your favorite line was! The summary is particularly hilarious. https://t.co/aAClJXBK6N pic.twitter.com/Dv6ZoSEYd8— Bleeding Blue: Giants History Podcast (@Bleeding__Blue) April 20, 2021
You would think a scouting report would be fairly dry and technical, but Accorsi throws a couple of gems in:
"REMEMBER HOW ARCHIE RAN? IN THAT DEPARTMENT, ELI DOESN’T HAVE THE BEST GENES, ALTHOUGH I NEVER TIMED MOM OLIVIA IN THE 40."
"AS [FORMER BALTIMORE COLTS DEFENSIVE BACK] BOBBY BOYD TOLD ME ONCE ABOUT UNITAS, "TWO THINGS SET HIM APART: HIS LEFT TESTICLE AND HIS RIGHT TESTICLE""
