The New York Giants have signed DB Steven Parker to their practice squad.
Parker originally signed with the Los Angeles Rams as an undrafted free agent out of Oklahoma following the 2018 NFL Draft. Parker was in camp with the Rams until he was waived following training camp and re-signed to the Rams’ practice squad, which is where he spent the 2018 season.
Parker was waived again by Los Angeles following the 2019 preseason and was quickly claimed off of waivers by the Miami Dolphins. He appeared in fourteen games for the Dolphins in 2019, starting two, and finished the season with 20 tackles, three passes defensed and a pair of interceptions.
Parker was again waived the the following summer and picked up by the Minnesota Vikings, waived again, and eventually signed with the Dallas Cowboys’ practice squad. Parker was eventually elevated to Dallas’ active roster for the week 5 game between the Cowboys and Giants, but spent much of the season bouncing between the practice squad and active roster. He ultimately played in 8 games for Dallas last year.
The Giants cut TE Ryan Izzo in a corresponding roster move.
