The New York Giants are currently listed as 4.5-point underdogs against the Washington Football Team at DraftKings Sportsbook for this week’s Thursday Night Football matchup. Washington is the -225 moneyline favorite.

Washington was only favored by three points when the season began. Today they saw their starting quarterback, Ryan Fitzpatrick, go down with a hip injury during a game against the Los Angeles Chargers. He was replaced by Taylor Heinicke, who started the team’s playoff matchup against the Buccaneers last year. Heinicke finished 11-for-15 with 122 yards in Washington’s 20-16 loss. Fitzpatrick will undergo an MRI Monday to determine the severity of the injury.

But a disheartening Giants performance against the Denver Broncos has shifted the line in Washington’s favor despite Fitzpatrick’s injury. New York totaled 314 yards of offense and allowed 420 yards in a 27-13 loss against the Broncos. They opened that game as 3-point underdogs.

New York managed just 60 rushing yards against Denver, 27 of which came from quarterback Daniel Jones. Saquon Barkley carried the ball 10 times for 26 yards. Washington’s defensive line, led by Chase Young and Jonathan Allen, will provide an even tougher test for the Giants.

Neither game surpassed 40 total points, but the over-under for Thursday’s matchup opened at 43.

The Giants will be trying to avoid an 0-2 start for the eighth time in nine years.
