The New York Giants fell to the New England Patriots 22-20 in their final preseason game, bringing their August record to 0-3.
The good news there? It’s preseason and losses don’t matter. In reality, while teams certainly like to win every game they play, they are looking at much more in preseason than wins and losses. They are looking to see how their players perform on the field in live game situations, how they develop over the course of camp and the preseason, and at aspects of the game we can only guess at.
But this was the first time we’ve seen the Giants’ starters on the field for extended action since the end of the 2020 season. How did they look and what did we learn? Joe DeLeone and I offered our thoughts in the immediate aftermath of the game.
