FOXBORO, MASS. — One of the primary things to watch this week as he continues to ramp up football activities with the season approaching is how much the New York Giants allow running back Saquon Barkley in joint practices with the New England Patriots.
That, though, is going to have to wait until Thursday.
Per a report from Jordan Ranaan of ESPN, Barkley will not be in attendance on Wednesday as he attends to a personal matter. He is expected to participate in Thursday’s joint practice.
Barkley, coming back from major knee surgery, did only individual work during joint practices last week with the Cleveland Browns.
“He keeps advancing in his rehab. His foot is tapping every day, wanting to do more and more, and physically he keeps progressing and showing us he can do more and more,” head coach Joe Judge said on Monday. “We’ll formulate a plan for what he’s going to do in Foxborough through the practices and the game, but I would expect it to be more than what we saw last week.”
Practice begins at 10 a.m.
