New York Giants coach Joe Judge was non-committal on Friday regarding whether or not starters would play Sunday vs. the Cleveland Browns in the second game of the preseason.
With the exception of the offensive line and a few other players, front-line Giants did not participate in the preseason opener last Saturday against the New York Jets.
Judge seemed to admit Friday morning that the joint practices with the Browns may impact playing time in Sunday’s game.
“I haven’t decided, yet,” Judge said. “We’re going to see how we come out today and I’m going to talk with Kevin [Stefanski] in terms of his plans. We’ve talked earlier in the week about what they’re intending to do and we’re going to see how that’s going to measure up and we’ll evaluate our team after today.”
Judge has been cognizant of player workloads throughout camp, and his comments Friday indicated that will continue.
“I just want to make sure we keep our overall players’ loads in consideration going into it because it’ll also be a quick turnaround going from Cleveland, getting back home, training up to Boston and going against New England for a couple of days before playing the preseason game, through which we’re going to truly treat as more of that regular season dress rehearsal,” Judge said.
