The Browns are better than the Giants right now. I guess you could say that was fairly obvious Thursday, but each team had separate goals within the primary shared goal, which was just to get good work without getting anybody hurt. Had this been a real game, Landry might have kept running to Canton on a couple of his receptions (and Engram would have filled up the stat sheet, too). But it wasn’t a real game, and the chances of the Browns’ last play ever happening in a real game are almost non-existent. Both coaches immediately shifted their focus to tomorrow, when drill work will be slightly reduced in hopes of saving the pass catchers’ legs. The Giants have joint practices again next week in New England. These practices are about evaluation and competition and not declarations of any kind.
