9. Aaron Robinson, DB, New York Giants (No. 71)
Play style: Long, physical corner with great feet who can play inside and outside.
Scheme: Man-heavy, aggressive blitzing team.
Giants defensive coordinator Patrick Graham is from the New England coaching tree, and he was Brian Flores’ defensive coordinator in Miami in 2019. They want to be aggressive with their pressure schemes and play man-to-man on the back end. With how much they want to pressure, having multiple, versatile defensive backs is essential. They already have a couple of really good corners on the outside with James Bradberry and free-agent signee Adoree Jackson. Robinson will add depth outside but he can give them a dynamic presence inside, where he mostly played in college. Robinson is a long, physical corner with quick feet and closing speed. He loves contact and is a very good tackler.
“We just felt — he’s a press cornerback and really fits what we want to be on D,” Giants general manager Dave Gettleman said.
Gettleman implied they’ll also try Robinson in the “star” role, which is essentially a nickel, but in certain calls the star could be part of the run fit, blitz or be asked to cover receivers or tight ends. Robinson has an interesting array of skills and could be used in different positions depending on the matchup in the Giants’ system.

21. New York Giants
Not many teams had a better offseason, but it won’t matter if Daniel Jones can’t stay healthy and improve.
Dave Gettleman has laid out his expectations for improvement from Jones this season. With weapons galore and a defensive unit that ranked Top 10 last year, Jones must improve or the Giants may be looking for a new QB come this time next year.
