The New York Giants were one of the most active teams in the NFL through the first third of 2021.

Not only did they make a series of blockbuster signings in free agency but they navigated the draft board in the 2021 NFL Draft in a way they never had before. The result was adding Kenny Golladay, Adoree Jackson, Kadarius Toney, Azeez Ojulari, Aaron Robinson, and Elerson Smith since the calendar turned to January 2021. But how much do those additions move the needle for the Giants?

The Giants were generally ranked in the low 20’s at the end of the 2020 season (an average of 22.6 across NFL.com, ESPN, and Pro Football Network).

We took a quick survey of NFL.com, the Pro Football Network, NBCsports, and Fan Duel, and following the Draft. How do they feel about the Giants following their active roster building season?

NFL Network - 22nd

Previous rank: 22nd

The Giants traded out of each of their first two picks — unprecedented draft maneuvering for “Trader” Dave Gettleman, who had famously never traded back in his career before this past weekend. The Giants came out of the wheeling and dealing with multiple picks in the first, third and fourth rounds of the 2022 draft. Kadarius Toney, selected 20th overall after Gettleman’s blockbuster deal with the Bears, gives Daniel Jones another high-upside playmaker. Jones will have no shortage of options in a make-or-break third year: Toney joins an offense that already boasts Saquon Barkley, Kenny Golladay, Evan Engram, Darius Slayton and Sterling Shepard.

Pro Football Network - 23rd

As is the case around the NFL with other young quarterbacks, Daniel Jones’ squad has been built up nicely around him — especially with the skill-position talent. New York has certainly made some key additions this year.

NBC Sports - 27th

Previous Rank: 26th

Notable NFL Draft Picks: Kadarius Toney, WR, Florida; Azeez Ojulari, LB, Georgia

This was a solid draft for Dave Gettleman, who gave Daniel Jones another offensive weapon after adding Kenny Golladay in free agency and beefed up the defense in the later rounds. But we’re still reserving judgment on Jones, who threw 11 touchdown passes and 10 interceptions in 2020.
