For the first time since our initial mock draft tracker three months ago, a wide receiver does not top the chart as the player most often selected for the New York Giants.
Penn State linebacker Micah Parsons, selected for the Giants in 11 of 80 mock drafts tracked this week (13.8 percent) tops a varied list of candidates for the 11th overall selection in the 2021 NFL Draft.
Northwestern offensive tackle Rashawn Slater and Alabama wide receiver DeVonta Smith (10 selections, 12.5 percent) were next on the list. Michigan’s Kwity Paye (8 selections, 10 percent) was the edge defender most often selected. Alabama wide receiver Jaylen Waddle, who was the player most often selected for several weeks, was chosen 7 times (8.75 percent).
This week’s tracker reflects the changing reality for the Giants after the free-agent signing of Kenny Golladay. They could still select a wide receiver at No. 11, but their options are wide open and their is no real consensus in the draft community on what they will actually do.
