The New York Giants selected Florida wide receiver Kadarius Toney with the 20th pick in the NFL draft on Thursday night.
To get there, general manager Dave Gettleman traded away the team’s 11th pick to the Chicago Bears in exchange for the Bears first-round picks this year and next year along with a fifth-rounder this year and a fourth-rounder next year.
It’s the first time in Gettleman’s career he has traded down.
What social media had to say about the Toney pick
Fan and media reaction seemed to be split over whether the pick was the right one for the Giants.
Great move by Giants. Big fan. Next year’s draft picks are like gold right now. Super valuable. Projected strong draft. More info on prospects. Significant assets in return. One exec just told me he thought it was a fleecing ... by the Giants!

Wow. This is an interesting pick by the @Giants Kadarius Toney is a weapon. He has a little work to do with route running. But he is as dangerous as any player in the draft with the ball in his hands. He is electric.

If Engram can hold on to the ball, the Giants are going to have a LOT of weapons

The Giants wanted to get Daniel Jones more help. Florida WR Kadarius Toney it is. A wow pick!

The Giants might get killed for this. But they traded back and added a position of need. Could have gone pass rusher. Easily. But helping Jones in a year where it's make or break for him isn't bad. I don't mind it
