The New York Giants are trading down in the first round of the 2021 NFL Draft, moving down from No. 11 to No. 20 in a trade with the Chicago Bears.

The Giants reportedly received the following picks from the Bears:

20th overall pick
164th overall pick (5th round)
2022 1st round pick
2022 4th round pick

That is a fifth round pick for the Giants, where they previously did not have a selection. It gives them two first-round picks in 2022 and two fourth-round picks in a draft expected to be a deep one.

With the 11th pick, the Bears selected Ohio State quarterback Justin Fields.

The move came about after the Philadelphia Eagles, who had the 12th pick in the draft, traded up two spots to No. 10 in a swap with the Dallas Cowboys to take wide receiver DeVonta Smith.

Prior to that, three other players thought to be primary Giants targets had also come off the board. Wide receiver Jaylen Waddle was taken No. 6 by the Miami Dolphins, cornerback Jaycee Horn No. 8 by the Carolina Panthers and Patrick Surtain II No. 9 by the Denver Broncos.
