The New York Giants face an agonizing decision when free agency opens: What to do about their defensive tackle position?
The Giants have sunk an incredible amount of resources into their defensive line over the last few seasons, and it paid dividends in 2020. The interior of their defensive line, with Leonard Williams, Dalvin Tomlinson, Dexter Lawrence III, B.J. Hill, and Austin Johnson, formed the strength of their defense. The Giants’ defensive line was able to completely frustrate opposing running games while combining with the secondary to make life difficult for opposing passers.
The problem for 2021 is that their two best players, Williams and Tomlinson, are both free agents and the Giants are in a salary cap bind. Joe DeLeone, Nick Falato, and I dive into the Giants’ DT dilemma and offer some possible paths forward in 2021.
In this podcast

- If the Giants have to choose, should they pick Leonard Williams or Dalvin Tomlinson?
- What could the Giants do along the defensive interior in free agency or the draft?
