Giants roster moves: Dante Pettis placed on IR

The shoulder injury wide receiver/punt returner Dante Pettis suffered Monday night trying to recover a muffed punt has caused the New York Giants to place Pettis on injured reserve.

The Giants also terminated tight end Jake Hausmann from their practice squad and re-signed running back Dexter Williams to the practice squad. Williams was with the team’s practice squad for three weeks in September.

Williams could be protection for the Giants in the event that Gary Brightwell is not cleared from the Reserve/COVID-19 list in time for Sunday’s game against the Las Vegas Raiders.

It also appears that Saquon Barkley, who was cleared from the COVID list on Friday along with safety Xavier McKinney, is unlikely to play on Sunday. Reports from practice are that Barkley did not appear on the practice field for the Giants.

This would be a fourth straight missed game for Barkley is he is unable to play on Sunday.
