Giants vs. Chiefs predictions: The Giants can’t win in Kansas City, can they?

BBV staff members think the answer is “no”

With two victories in their last four games, the New York Giants have provided their fan base with a sliver of hope that things may be getting better. Still, lopsided losses in that stretch to the Dallas Cowboys and Los Angeles Rams show that the Giants may not yet be ready for prime time.

Well, the Giants are 9.5-point underdogs in prime time on Monday night against the Kansas City Chiefs. Can they go on the road and beat a team that has been in the Super Bowl the past two seasons, winning the title in 2019?

Your Big Blue View staff doesn’t think so. Here are explanations for this week’s Giants-Chiefs picks.

Emily Iannaconi:

“ ... the Giants are still the Giants and the Chiefs are still the Chiefs ... The Chiefs are home and they really need a win before facing the Packers, Raiders and Cowboys in the next three weeks. It’s difficult to imagine them not rebounding against the Giants on Monday night.”

Chris Pflum:

“I expect the Giants to come out and play the Chiefs hard, but I just can’t count out Pat Mahomes. He’s been turning the ball over and probably trying to do too much, but he is capable of simply taking games over. I don’t expect KC to overlook New York at home and I think Andy Reid will want to have a rebound game after their brutal loss to the Titans.”

Joe Czikk:

“Unfortunately for Big Blue the magic won’t continue from last week’s home win over Carolina. Kansas City has struggled after shuffling nearly its entire offensive line from last year, but I think they’re better than what they’ve shown. KC takes this one easily. ”

Jeremy Portnoy:

“My finger was hovering over the button to pick the Giants to win this game, but I couldn’t bring myself to do it.Despite the Chiefs’ recent struggles (they lost 27-3 to theTitans last week), this is still Patrick Mahomes we’re talking about.”

Valentine’s View:

“I would love to pick the Giants here, but I’m not crazy. If the Chiefs play like the CHIEFS — and they will at some point — the Giants are out of their weight class. Even if they don’t, they are still the Chiefs, and the Giants are the Giants.”
