The 1-5 New York Giants welcome the 3-3 Carolina Panthers to MetLife Stadium on a brisk Sunday this weekend, with kickoff temperature set to be 58 degrees. It should be a good opportunity for the Giants to grab their second win of the season over a sliding Panthers team that has lost its last three games.

The Giants fell 38-11 to the Rams on Sunday while the Panthers lost in overtime to the Vikings, 34-28.

Giants left tackle Andrew Thomas and depth receiver C.J. Board both went on the IR this week. Board is out for the season with a broken arm. Thomas will miss at least three weeks with foot and ankle injuries, The offense will turn to the duo of Matt Peart and Nate Solder to bookend their offensive line.

Wide receivers Kenny Golladay (knee) and Kadarius Toney (ankle) are out. So, too, is running back Saquon Barkley (ankle). Tight end Evan Engram is questionable with a calf injury, while wide receivers John Ross, Sterling Shepard and Darius Slayton are all questionable with hamstring injuries.

Meanwhile, Giants’ rookie cornerback Aaron Robinson and rookie edge rusher Elerson Smith returned to practice this week. Neither will be active Sunday.

In Carolina, running back Christian McCaffrey was placed on IR last week, meaning he’ll miss at least this game and the next. That means rookie Oklahoma State product Chuba Hubbard will continue to be Carolina’s feature back.
