New York Giants star running back Saquon Barkley was reportedly on crutches with a boot on his injured left foot/ankle after Sunday’s game against the Dallas Cowboys. Barkley left early in the game after stepping on a Dallas defender following an incomplete pass.
Giants head coach Joe Judge offered no updates on Barkley, quarterback Daniel Jones (concussion), wide receiver Kenny Golladay (knee) or cornerback Rodarius Williiams (knee).
The latest news on Barkley is that he appears to be “week-to-week” with a low ankle sprain.
#Giants star RB Saquon Barkley is believed to have suffered a low-ankle sprain, sources say, an injury that likely knocks him out next week. He’ll have more tests, but he’s best characterized as week-to-week. A fast healer, Barkley will work to miss only one week.

Jones reportedly was able to converse with his family after the game, and Judge said Jones was expected to travel back to New Jersey with the team. Golladay told media that he hyperextended his knee and tried to play, but couldn’t continue.
Judge said that he is confident that backup quarterback Mike Glennon can run the offense should he have to start next week against the Los Angeles Rams.
Judge also said that the Giants only wanted to use Andrew Thomas (foot) in an emergency. Judge said he thought the offensive line did a good job in pass protection after some early struggles.

Rodarius Williams injury
New York Giants rookie cornerback Rodarius Williams was carted to the locker room late in the third quarter. Williams has been ruled out with a knee injury, the fourth Giants’ player ruled out since the game began.
Golladay out
Giants wide receiver Kenny Golladay is out with a knee injury. Golladay missed most of training camp with a hamstring injury.
Daniel Jones out after helmet-to-helmet hit
New York Giants quarterback Daniel Jones left Sunday’s game against Dallas after taking a helmet-to-helmet hit from Jabril Cox while running a bootleg on a third-and-goal inside the Dallas 1-yard line. Jones got up, staggered, was helped off the field and then carted into the locker room.
Jones has been ruled out, per the TV broadcast.
Barkley out with ankle injury
New York Giants star running back Saquon Barkley left Sunday’s game midway through the first quarter with a left ankle injury.
Barkley stepped on the foot of Dallas Cowboys defensive back Jordan Lewis after a pass from Daniel Jones sailed over his head. He immediately went to the sideline.
A television image showed Barkley’s left ankle swelling significantly. Barkley was carted to the locker room.
The Giants initially ruled Barley questionable to return, but then quickly ruled him out once he went to the locker room.
Barkley missed 14 games last season after suffering a torn ACL. He suffered a high ankle sprain in 2019, missed three games and played at less than 100 percent for much of the season.
Without Barkley, Devontae Booker will have to carry the rushing load for the Giants.
New York is already playing without starting left tackle Andrew Thomas, who is active but did not start due to a foot injury. Wide receivers Sterling Shepard and Darius Slayton (hamstring injuries), safety Jabrill Peppers (hamstring) and guard Ben Bredeson (hand) are also inactive.
The Giants have already lost linebacker Blake Martinez and starting offensive linemen Nick Gates and Shane Lemieux for the season.
