Can the New York Giants do something no team has ever done on Sunday? If they defeat the Dallas Cowboys (1 p.m. E.T./FOX) they could become the first 6-10 team to make the NFL playoffs. They could also become the first 0-5 team to accomplish that.
The Giants would, as you likely know, need the Washington Football Team to lose to the Philadelphia Eagles on Sunday night.
The Giants are 2-point underdogs. Dallas (6-9) has won three straight games against team already eliminated from playoff contention. The Giants have lost three straight, all against teams that have either qualified for or could still qualify for the playoffs.
The Giants lost a Week 5 game to Dallas, 37-34. Dallas quarterback Dak Prescott suffered a season-ending injury in that game. Andy Dalton led the Cowboys to a pair of drives that resulted in field goals in the final 1:56, the last with no time remaining, as Dallas won.
