Safety Sean Chandler was added to the Giants’ practice squad on Monday, one day after he was released by the team.

Over the past two seasons, Chandler played in 29 games and totaled 20 tackles (15 solo), 1.0 sack, one passes defensed and two fumble recoveries on defense and five special teams tackles.

The Giants now have 15 players on their 16-player practice squad with one vacancy remaining.

NFL teams are allowed to active two players from their practice squads each week, bringing the active roster to 55 and the game day roster to 48 players.

Chandler has been a valuable special teams contributor the past two season. That could make him a candidate to be bumped to the active roster.
