The New York Giants have claimed wide receiver C.J. Board off of waivers from the Jacksonville Jaguars. The team announced the move on Thursday afternoon.
Board first entered the NFL as an undrafted free agent out of Chattanooga in 2017, when he was originally signed by the Baltimore Ravens after the 2017 NFL Draft. Board was waived by the Ravens during final cut downs. Since then he spent time on the practice squads of the Tennessee Titans, Cleveland Browns, and Jaguars. The Jags promoted him to their active roster ind December of last year, where he caught 2 passes for 31 yards, and signed him to a reserve/futures deal after the season.
Board is an athletic 6-foot, 180-pound receiver who ran a 4.42 40-yard dash, with a short shuttle of 4.06 seconds and a 3-cone drill of 6.67 seconds. He put up a 38.5-inch vertical jump and an 11-foot broad jump.
At Chattanooga he recorded 146 receptions for 2,032 yards (13.9 per catch) and 10 touchdowns, and finished his college career on a high note with highs of 46 catches for 725 yards and 5 touchdowns. Board also has experience as a punt returner, with 42 returns for 438 yards (10.4 per return) over his sophomore, junior, and senior seasons.
We will bring you the Giants’ corresponding roster move when we get it.
