Giants’ David Sills V placed on COVID-19 reserve list

The New York Giants have now been directly impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic for the first time, with the news that wide receiver David Sills V has been placed on the league’s Reserve/COVID-19 list.

That means that Sills has either tested positive for the virus or come in contact with someone who has tested positive.

Sills spent last season on the Giants’ practice squad.

Veteran quarterback Alex Tanney has been placed on the league’s ‘Declared Non-Football Illness’ list. It’s not clear if that is related to the virus or not. The league’s transactions page, however, indicates that Tanney will count against the team’s 90-man roster limit.

Another roster move

After placing cornerback DeAndre Baker on the Commissioner’s Exempt List, the Giants have been awarded defensive back Shakial Taylor on waivers from the Denver Broncos. Taylor played in five games for the Indianapolis Colts a season ago.
