Can former undrafted free agent Sean Chandler earn a third season with the New York Giants? Let’s take a closer look as we continue profiling players on the 90-man roster.

The basics

Height: 5-foot-10
Weight: 205
Age: 24
Position: Safety
Experience: 2
Contract status: One-year, $750,000 contract

How he got here

Chandler made the Giants’ roster two seasons ago as an undrafted free agent out of Temple. He has been a little-used reserve safety and special teams player in that time, seeing only 171 defensive snaps over 29 games. He played only 30 defensive snaps in 2018.

2020 outlook

Chandler will likely be fighting to keep a roster spot. With a new coaching staff and a plethora of young, versatile defensive backs vying to stick around, Chandler might have his work cut out to show that he belongs. That’s not saying he won’t make the team, just that he is far from a lock to make the roster.
