Good morning, New York Giants fans!
Jones is the franchise quarterback. Is he, though, the leader of the 2020 Giants?
Saban tells the Giants podcast that it is “no surprise to me that Joe [Judge] has gotten to this point in his career.” As for Xavier McKinney, Saban says “I think most of the things that ‘X’ is going to be exposed to, he’s probably done. They might call it something different. I think it’ll be an easy transition for him.”
“I don’t believe the NFL will start until [October 15],” the big guy tweeted on Friday. “But that is still very comfortable for the league, which would drop the byes and play the [Super Bowl] on the last Sunday in February.”
That would be Week 6 on the current schedule.
Is the NFL selling false hope in the middle of the COVID-19 pandemic?
Was the NFL’s trumpeting of an unaffected, 16-game regular season schedule realistic at all?
Was it appropriate that the league severely underplayed the existence of contingencies in the schedule’s creation due to the coronavirus pandemic?
And was it disingenuous and disrespectful, therefore, to sell New Yorkers and New Jerseyans on a Sept. 14 Giants home opener at MetLife Stadium when none of us can even walk across the street and borrow a screwdriver from our neighbor?
Or was the NFL’s course reasonable and justified because no one knows what is coming tomorrow and hope is better than nothing at all?
